Overview

The oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, there's every chance for eagled eyed visitors to catch a glimpse of The King.

Windsor Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. These rooms are still in use to this day, providing an amazing insight into the inner-workings of the Royal Family.

A favourite among visitors is Queen Mary's Dolls’ House. This stunning replica of an aristocrat's home is almost as impressive as the castle itself!

After your visit to the Castle wander over to The Corner House. A grade II listed building, recently renovated into a local snug neighbourhood gastro pub. Choose your 3 course meal from a delicious range of British pub classics.

What did your experience entail?
After the recent coronation of King Charles III, I treated my mother to a quintessentially British experience at Windsor Castle, accompanied by a delightful Sparkling Cream Tea. The vastness of the castle grounds astounded us, providing ample freedom to explore at our leisure. The staff members were remarkably friendly and attentive, and the castle's impressive accessibility, considering its origins in 1070, left us in awe. While on the grounds, we visited King George VI's Memorial Chapel and paid our respects at the final resting place of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
After immersing ourselves in the castle's wonders, including the state rooms and Queen Mary's Dolls' House, we made our way to the brasserie for our cream tea experience. The Clarence Court Brasserie, conveniently located on Church Street just beyond the castle's main gate, welcomed us warmly. A friendly server greeted us, collected our voucher and escorted us to our table. The service proved highly efficient, as within minutes of settling in, we were served with tea and a glass of bubbly. Shortly after we enjoyed the traditional sandwiches, scones, cream, and jam that followed.
What did you enjoy the most?
The best part for us was that we skipped a ginormous queue at Windsor Castle as we had vouchers. We were escorted to a designated “Voucher Holders” entrance and were in the castle much faster than those waiting to buy tickets on the day.

Top Tip

1. There is a lovely café on the castle grounds which offer some delicious cakes, but don’t fill up too much as you have a cream tea to look forward to.
2. Look out for and be respectful of The Foot Guards patrolling Windsor Castle – don’t get in the way!
