Overview

Looking for a weekend getaway with a difference? Visit Stonehenge and experience glamping at the Stonehenge Inn. This unique inn is the closest one to the monument and offers a choice of unique and exciting accommodation options.

Stay in an 1850s Railway Carriage designed for two. This car is one of only two survivors of the London & Southwest Rail carriages. Each car has been converted into double en-suite rooms with modern amenities while keeping the vintage decor.

If a train car isn’t for you, try the traditional Shepherd Huts. These huts are perfect for a short getaway with standard iron wheels, a firepit, and beautiful murals painted on the ceilings. The huts boast electricity and running water while maintaining that feeling of living in the past.

The Stonehenge Inn is located only 7 minutes from the prehistoric Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain. Visit and learn the history of the large stones, which are around 13 feet tall and 7 feet wide. If that’s not enough, there is even a mini Stonehenge right on the property!

Other attractions include Salisbury Cathedral, which is home to one of only 4 surviving copies of the 1215 Magna Carta, and Old Sarum, the massive hill fort from the Iron Ages.

When you’re done exploring the Salisbury area for the day, you can return to your accommodation and relax for the evening by the courtyard fireplace. Or enjoy the evening entertainment in the pub.
