Take a journey back in time and enjoy a fun-filled, nostalgic trip out together on a historic steam train. With a choice of scenic locations to visit, they’ll travel in style as the train meanders through some of the most glorious parts of the British countryside.
At some locations, tickets are valid for a return journey, whereas others offer a whole day rover ticket, so they’ll be able to hop on and off, exploring the local area as they please.
Also included in this package is either a one night stay with breakfast or a two night room only stay at a delightful hotel or B&B carefully selected for their convenient location.
These experiences make the perfect relaxing combination, where they can unwind in peaceful surroundings, with a chance to experience a new part of the country or see a local area from a different perspective, either at the same time as the train ride or at a later date.
This experience is available on selected dates, throughout the year. Steam trains typically run between March to October.

Spent a lovely day onboard the train travelling along to Peterborough, plenty of scenery to enjoy along the way. At the journeys end it was 15 minutes walk into the city centre for lunch, then catch the train back to your car. Very pleasant staff, would recommend for a day out.

The sandpiper is a fab stay- 20 mins walk to the beachfront. Place was clean and well kept and hosts were helpful and friendly. You can take trains or short car ride to other places and beaches.

The staff were helpful and friendly. It was an interesting morning. Sadly on the Gift box it stated Steam train ride and afternoon tea, but this could not be used on the train, which was very misleading. We did enjoy the tea at the Dog and partridge Inn about twenty minutes away. This should be made clear in the literature included in the gift box.

On arrival we were upgraded to a superior double room, which was spacious with a lovely bathroom and shower. The location was fantastic, just a minute's walk from the cliff and spectacular view of the sandy beach with steps leading down. The traditional English breakfast was fine, with plenty of choice, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We used the pool and had it to ourselves. All in all, an excellent hotel we would certainly visit again.
