Take a journey back in time and enjoy a fun-filled, nostalgic trip out together on a historic steam train. With a choice of scenic locations to visit, they’ll travel in style as the train meanders through some of the most glorious parts of the British countryside.
At some locations, tickets are valid for a return journey, whereas others offer a whole day rover ticket, so they’ll be able to hop on and off, exploring the local area as they please.
Also included in this package is either a one night stay with breakfast or a two night room only stay at a delightful hotel or B&B carefully selected for their convenient location.
These experiences make the perfect relaxing combination, where they can unwind in peaceful surroundings, with a chance to experience a new part of the country or see a local area from a different perspective, either at the same time as the train ride or at a later date.
This experience is available on selected dates, throughout the year. Steam trains typically run between March to October.

A nostalgic trip which was most enjoyable, through the Somerset countryside. The staff were all very pleasant & welcoming, a great gift shop, & the station was a wonderful blast from the past.Also plenty of parking & a large cafe.

We enjoyed the experience and the station was lovely as were all the volunteers who couldn’t have been more friendly. The only criticism was the carriages were a bit tatty and in need of renovation and the windows could have done with a clean. Overall though it was lovely.

Unbelievably, the token was ONLY available at 8 Steam Railways and just one in South or Southwest England and that was just a two mile ride - a great shame. The packaging gave the impression of a Steam Ride plus Afternoon Tea - not at all!! It transpired that the two are NOT at the same site even though the Steam Trip offered Afternoon or Cream Teas, the Voucher was not accepted by that Railway - this was most disappointing and I felt, misleading by Activity Superstore - I will NOT be recommending this organisation to anyone.

Wonderful day remembering the days I spent going places on steam trains in my youth. Everyone we spoke to on our journey was so kind pleasant and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend a day on the trains and with definitely be booking another adventure on the trains.

Spent a lovely day onboard the train travelling along to Peterborough, plenty of scenery to enjoy along the way. At the journeys end it was 15 minutes walk into the city centre for lunch, then catch the train back to your car. Very pleasant staff, would recommend for a day out.

The sandpiper is a fab stay- 20 mins walk to the beachfront. Place was clean and well kept and hosts were helpful and friendly. You can take trains or short car ride to other places and beaches.
