What did your experience entail?
My husband and I planned a day trip to London and had to try out this Inamo Sushi Afternoon Tea. We chose to visit the Covent Garden location as we were watching a show on the West End that evening.
We were greeted at reception by Chetna, who confirmed that we were there for our afternoon tea booking and that the cost was all included in the voucher. We were offered the option to upgrade to include bottomless prosecco alongside our meal, but we agreed that this would lead to chaos and us missing our show. We did however opt to add a cocktail each, I went for a Lychee Mojito and Kriss had a Tokyo Gold, both of which were delish!
Chetna asked if we had been there before, and as we hadn’t, she gave us a full introduction to how the restaurant worked. She talked us through our Afternoon Tea menu and explained how the interactive tables work. The tables are stocked full of games such as snooker, pinball and old-school arcade games that you can play alone or competitively versus each other.
You can also use the tables to browse and order from the rest of their food and drink menu which was extensive as well as “Call Waiter” if you needed to speak to someone. We used this a couple of times to get a top-up on our unlimited green tea. The food arrived quickly, served on a two-tier platter. It consisted of a range of sushi, as well as some fried chicken and crispy gyoza. It also came with a dish of soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. The tables were cleared quickly after eating allowing us to return to our competitive games whilst we waited for our desserts. Dessert consisted of pistachio macarons and a mango & passionfruit slice which was incredible! The menu usually included a couple of sorbets, they explained that this was unfortunately unavailable, but they substituted it with an amazing chocolate fondant with coconut ice cream – win!
The vibe of the restaurant was cool and trendy, but there was a mixed bag of people ranging from families to wannabe influencers! I of course went for a snoop around, there was a more “relaxed” restaurant upstairs without the interactive tables and a bar setup downstairs where they run their comedy and drag nights. The toilets were clean and tidy, located on the basement floor. Overall, we both enjoyed the experience and plan to visit again, maybe braving a bottomless beer or wine Experience Voucher!
What did you enjoy the most?
We feel this was incredible value for money, as their A La Carte menu is available on the interactive table, and individual dishes are priced at around £17.99 each.
1. You have a choice between their Soho location or Covent Garden, both are nearby to the British Museum which is free to visit.
2. The chocolate fondant was amazing, consider adding it on or asking to substitute it for another dessert.
