Overview

Embark on an exhilarating aerial adventure like no other with an amazing 20 Minute Microlight Flight with GS Aviation. Microlighting embodies the essence of early aviation - it's pioneering, thrilling, and infused with a hint of eccentricity. These delightful little aircraft, boasting panoramic views from the cockpit, are perfect for brief escapades over the scenic countryside. Treat yourself to the joy of flying a microlight on a beautiful summer's day.

To kickstart your experience, your instructor will provide you with a comprehensive safety briefing. This includes instructions on how to operate the microlight's dual controls, safely enter the aircraft, and conduct all necessary pre-takeoff checks. Once prepared, you'll take to the skies in a fixed-wing aircraft resembling a miniature plane with a closed cockpit , ascending to an impressive altitude of 1,500 feet above ground level. The GS Aviation instructor will demonstrate the controls, and if they are satisfied, the control of the microlight will be entrusted to you. The entire experience will last approximately 1 hour, with a thrilling 20 minutes spent in the microlight itself.

What did you get up to?
I have never been scared or nervous when flying in a passenger plane but this was definitely a shock to the system! I arrived at the airfield for midday and the weather was sunny but quite windy, the pilot was there waiting for me and we quickly went to the aircraft to perform the pre-flight checks. The pilot was very informative and this experience was very hands on as I performed most of the checks, these included starting the engine and contacting the radio control tower to get clearance for take-off. Once we were ready the pilot took off, from this point he let me take control of the microlight until landing, he was very calm and explained what each of the controls did, and he even pointed out the local landmarks we were passing. Overall a very nerve-racking experience but something I would definitely do again!

What did you enjoy the most?
Building up the courage to take controls and the feeling of achievement when I finally did!
